There are real issues with space colonization (which are way too exaggerated by anti-space people, who seem to be a very vocal and numerous group for reasons I truly don't understand) but trying to transplant the issues of colonialism on Earth (with real people who are still suffering with it) to space is nonsense. I actually think it's kind of offensive to compare the real-life suffering of people right now and extend it to an argument of "we shouldn't touch asteroids".
And if life was found in some of the many worlds humanity will visit in the future, do you think the people involved in space would just want to bulldoze through it? After finding the most important discovery of all of history? If they found such a thing in say, Europa, they won't twirl their moustaches and say "hehe time to destroy the native life for profit", that place would be off-limits for eternity except for all the scientists who FINALLY found life in space. People have spend THEIR WHOLE LIVES waiting for it.
There's also the economic/environmental argument all the time... And cost of a rocket launch might sound huge on its own, but it's negligible compared to the daily consumption of the fossil fuel industry, aircraft or cars, I doubt that even in a world where we launched dozens of rockets a week it would approach anything beyond those. I'd also much rather prefer the resources that might be otherwise be wasted into building nuclear missiles or I don't know, advertising, to be used in things that expand our common knowledge and open the door to future opportunities.
In fact, if space is such an expense and we shouldn't do it until we solve our problems here on Earth, then what about things like international sports tournaments, they're so expensive. Should we suspend the World Cup or the Olympics? Should we close down art museums? They're so expensive. Stop digging dinosaurs? Close the particle colliders? shut down the telescopes? Why are you studying art, why are you writing fanfic, don't you know there's Problems to solve?
It reminds me of people who are angry about AI because "it's souless art". There are arguments and then there's whatever that is.

Been having some ISaT tech level and timeline (as in 'when backstory things happened') thoughts and want to ramble a bit:
Tech
ISaT's setting is based on your classic sword and sorcery fantasy JRPG so its easy to assume that tech wise everything is 'fantasy medieval' and call it a day but consider:
Body Craft is at bare minimum is magic sex changing surgery (earliest known equivent in our world dating to 1930) that any old person can learn to do safely on themselves in only a few months, and more likely has many many broader applications like regular old surgery, the 'combat healing' Mira and Sif use, etc.
Cameras and photos are rare enough that Odile comments on it (namely she's happy the group get a photo in the House due to them being 'so rare') yet are also common enough that everyone in the party knows about them and doesn't question the existence of a camera beyond being surprised that the mirror was one. (In our world cameras date back to the 19th century, with the earliest manufacturing of them being in 1839).
Printing presses and ways to make plenty of paper to feed those presses given absolutely everyone in this game can read, expects everyone else to know how to, and both mass produced book series and newspapers are a thing. (Note: Printing presses have existed since waaaay back but it's the mass paper manufacturing that makes newspapers and The Cursing of Chateu Castle possible that really has my eyebrows raised here, especially since neither Siffrin or Odile find either odd in any way, indicating such things are common everywhere, and while newspapers have been around since 1604 in our world, mass produced fantasy books didn't really take off until the start of the 20th century).
Food production and storage: despite being in the middle of a national disaster that almost certainly cut off trade networks and access to most suppliers for literal months now, Bonnie, a small child, is able to easily get their hands on fresh Pineapple, curry ingredients (for samosa), potatoes, plantains etc with no issues or anyone commenting on this being unusual or lucky. Oh and the only character who even brings up the concept of potential starvation is the Fishing One, and only in a sort of 'we're not at risk now but sooner or later...' kinda way due to noticing that the fish they fish up for fun are disappearing and likely being frozen. So yeah, that heavily implies Vaugarde has very good food storage tech/Craft (possibly better than ours), and likely also good food production and harvesting tech/skills also.
The Island's incredible knowledge of the stars: while the oldest known orrery in our world is dated from around 205 to 87 BC (ancient Greek, earth centric model), the fact Sif -who would've learnt this as a child/teen- is so very certain that stars are big balls of fire made up of gas is interesting as that's something our world couldn't prove the theory of until around the 1900s (note: it'd been theorized a LONG time but Sif talks like its complete facts to them . Additionally the earliest existing record of a telescope in our world dates to a 1608 patent and we see one of those in game.
Post posting EDIT: A wonderful user qds-place pointed out that Mirabelle has anti-anxiety medication in her room. This is in both ISaT and SAaP and though we're not sure what form the medication takes (pills? Valium? Megitech esc Craft boosters???) the fact they specifically have 'anti anxiety' medication at all (as opposed to idk dragging Mira off and drugging her through the gills) is kind of impressive and if it IS modern anti anxiety pills those could be as recent in creation as the 1950s! So um. Some high levels of tech implied in chemistry there <3
So... yeah. All this, plus the fact that the highest tech implied area, The Island, literally specialised in the study/Craft of turning wishes into reality (for a long enough time period that Wish Craft is culturally so ingrained in the King and Sif that they do it without thinking and it seems intertwined with their nation's religion) has been completely erased from memory to the point anything heavily associated with them has been forgotten, and also we only ever see Dormont aka a little village well away from the cities, it's not hard to conclude that you can basically justify giving the ISaT world any level of tech you want, so long as you lock any of the truly 'setting breaking' stuff like planes and rockets behind The Island's forgetting curse (I would've said trains too but thinking about it trains were invented in 1802 so it's honestly easy to imagine that they totally exist in the ISaT setting/Vaugarde but aren't ever on screen because rail is way too dangerous to consider using while the Curse is active and potentially time freezing things on the tracks).
Side note: We know absolutely nothing about Vaugarde's transport system but as a fan of fantasy RPGs it is honestly a travesty I have yet to see a fic that has flying dragons/wyverns or other fantasy mounts in setting. Like, ok yes, the party would probably have wanted to use those but maybe they don't like the Curse and fled? Maybe the King's Curse targeted them first? Maybe all their handlers dropped the heroes off in Dormont and said 'Well Saviors it's been fun, but well me and Scales here are off to Poteria until things wrap up so best of luck to you' before buggering off?
This isn't really a serious complaint just. Me reminding myself/potentially other fanwork writers out there that there's a lot about the setting we just don't know about and limiting all travel to walking, horse drawn carriage and boat is not actually required. (Also please mix up travelling to the Island. Boats are a wonderful classic and have great thematic vibes for Sif's original leaving of the Island but like. Imagine the sheer in-universe wtf of the memories of The Island suddenly coming back and people on the north coast suddenly realising there's a massive bridge, subway or underwater tunnel leading there that everyone just forgot about - potentially filled with all kinds of Sadnesses that need taking down. Or Warp Panels in a House of Change, idk XD).
Timeline
Canon notes first:
Bonnie is a preteen (8 to 12), Mira and Isa are in their early to mid 20s (with Isa slightly older), Sif is late 20s to 30, and Odile is 40+ Nille is stated to be around 18 to 20.
Siffrin ran away from home when they were a teenager (13 to 17? 18?) and this is heavily implied to be when the Island was Forgotten.
Bonnie (in ISaT specifically*) says that Nille told them that when it happened all the adults were talking about it, hence why they think The Island is close to their village. *In Start Again a Prologue, Bonnie says that they themself remember the adults talking about the Island disappearing, which er. Is a bit impossible given they likely weren't even born yet when that happened but that can be explained away by AU differences, InsertDisc5 still finalising details between SAaP and ISaT, and/or OG Siffrin having been in the loops so long they weren't actually listening when Bonnie was talking and just 'scripted' in their head something 'close enough' to what Bonnie was saying to get the idea (note: mentioned that idea before in my post here on the differences between the House and King in Start Again vs In Stars and Time for anyone curious so er please feel free to give that a read if you haven't already).
Odile mentions remembering 'when it happened' as well and has been 'travelling for years'.
The King 'appeared out of nowhere' sometime in his adulthood, and lived in the city of Corbeaux for a few years before he became the King.
The King became the King as was freezing people in time long enough before his attack on the House of Dormont that everyone inside knew he was coming, there were a wall's worth of newspaper articles about him, and everyone was expecting Euphrasie to defeat him.
Mirabelle's quest began 'almost a year ago' and Sif lost their eye 'recently'.
Thoughts on the above:
Calculating when The Island was forgotten:
Sif being mid 20s to 30 and having run away from home as a teen means that The Island has to have been forgotten somewhere between 9 to 17 years ago with nine only possible if he ran away at age 17 and is only age 26 now, and seventeen being the far opposite if he ran at age 13 and is currently 30.
To narrow down the timeline: Given Sif ran away from home because he 'didn't want to eat his veggies' and 'just wanted to scare [his] parents a little bit' it's probably safe to assume Siffrin was likely on the younger end of the teen spectrum (teens run off all the time sure but with loving parents and over veggies? That screams 'kid who has not yet learned that freaking out the parents will get their ass grounded and/or yelled at a LOT and is therefore best saved for doing fun forbidden stuff that ideally the parents will never find out about' XD) Additionally given Siffrin can't remember his age/birthday etc but Isabeau outright says near the beginning of the game "But you're older than most of the people here?" meaning Sif must be visibly older than Isa or Mira, so he's probably closer to 30 than not.
Those alone would imply the Island likely disappeared closer to the '17 years ago' side of things BUT Nille (tops 20 years old) told Bonnie that "[the Island's disappearance] was all the adults would talk about for ages" and kids usually can't remember anything prior to 4 years of age so with that in mind...
I'd say The Island most likely disappeared between 13 to 16 years ago.
Nille stuff:
This is more a general mention but. Nille is tops 20 years old. Bonnie is between 8 and 12 and doesn't remember their parents at all.
This means Nille ran away with Bonnie and gained emancipation and custody of Bonnie (if Vaugarde has formalised that kind of legal stuff) while she was at most 12 years old herself and could have in theory been as young as 6..!
Regardless, it's very likely the original home situation was that bad, Nille deserves a ton of credit for raising Bonnie as well as she has and I'd say it's very VERY likely she had a lot of help from villagers in Bambosche and/or the local House of Change in doing so. ...But also Bonnie is very adamantly 'my sister and village' and not 'my sister and [specific names who live with us]' so there's clearly by the time Bonnie was 4 or so they were living in their own place so... Yeah. Lotta drive for independence there too it seems (so the party might have more trouble adopting Nille into their group post ISaT than Bonnie might expect).
King stuff:
Already an adult 13 to 16 years ago so at bare minimum 33. Given his vibe probably much older though.
Newspapers get printed pretty quick though for there to be so much speculation and research done into his background so quick, either Vaugarde has some form of fast messaging system (something like a Chappe telegraph on top of the Houses of Change? Odile I think does mention that they'll have a message sent to let Nille know they'll be returning Bonnie...) or the King was freezing stuff for IDK around a month or two before reaching Dormont? Alas can't find out how long it takes to walk across all of France out very easily (I'm sure the numbers are out there but my brain is pudding rn) but if we had those numbers we could probably make some guesstimates based off the rough sketched map of Vaugarde InsertDisk5 did... Which I would link but apparently the tumblr post I had it linked on has been deleted???? 'wails at this very unhappy development'
Mira's journey and Sif's eye:
We really don't know a lot but almost a year ago gives us somewhere around 9 to 11 months to spread the journey out along and after eye removal surgery the patient can out and about as soon as 2 to 6 weeks after, maybe sooner with magic healing (though full recovery/growing used to the changed spacial awareness -which Sif clearly does not have- probably can't be sped up and takes around 3 to 6 months) so um. I'd guestimate Sif's eye injury is really recent; like two months ago tops recent. ...Which sorta explains a lot of why Bonnie is not dealing with it right now and also why the others might be trying to avoid bringing it up (since Sif clearly loves avoiding the issue but they haven't yet realised that maybe they really should bring it up even if it annoys them anyway?)
Odile with some Ka Bue speculation:
When it comes to The Island, how did Odile, presumably living in Ka Bue at the time, remember 'when it happened'? Was the Island well known enough even on the other side of the world that it's disappearance made waves? Or was Odile herself or someone she's close to paying attention to the region? (Like maybe her dad or a friend is/was into politics or trade, keeping up with overseas news and got concerned it could happen to Ka Bue? I'd say 'I remember when it happened' line implies it was more immediate knowledge than being informed by a messenger much later though...)
As for Odile's 'years of travel' I have to wonder, what's left behind for her in Ka Bue? She brings up going back there quite a bit, might just miss home and possibly her father if he's still alive, but given it took her years to get here for something so personal rather than idk 'materially rewarding' I think Odile might have some kinda family estate or something back in Ka Bue... Something she wasn't worried about potentially losing while far away, but solid enough to want to return to, beyond her father who she'd definitely want to see again if he's still around. (...But given how open she is to chilling about Vaugarde a few more months with the others, I really don't think he is alive, since well, given their respective ages and travel between Vaugarde and Ka Bue apparently taking years, there'd definitely an uncomfortably high chance of him passing away while she's gone and that seems like the thing that'd stress Odile out so... Yeah. Probably got an estate in Ka Bue she'd like to take the Family to visit/possibly sell off if she decides she'd like to live with them in Vaugarde so... Just my off the cuff headcanoning here and hoping that gives others ideas or something).
---
Anyway that's all the ramble I've got in me so... yeah! Hope this was interesting and useful for those needing a bit of a 'possible tech'/timeline calcs breakdown for the Island + a few more vague things and um. Probably will post a long winding ramble about my attempt at a ISaT Selkie AU fic I've been working on next <3 (Not to be confused with looped-140-and-counting's already existing and quite wonderful Selkie Siffrin AU which already has a completed oneshot fic, a snippet of sequel, two snippets of prequel/Sif flashbacking and I believe a comic too, all of which I highly recommend <3)

The Sims 2 PSP Cut Content: Part 2
This is a follow up to my first cut content post, mostly talking about the cut Kine Dairy content there.
Missing Division 47 Scientists
Catelyn Lancaster
Catelyn is one of four Division 47 research assistants that are in The Sims 2 PSP. The two research assistants that still show up are Red Sands and Cristian Allard. All four scientists originally spawned inside the Laboratory along with the Curious brothers. Red and Cristian were later moved outside the lab to roam with the guards, leaving the other two scientists behind. This was likely due to performance issues in the lab. The schedule file indicates that Catelyn Lancaster would have spawned in the Laboratory only during the night.
This screenshot shows Red Sands when he used to spawn inside Division 47's lab. (Unfortunately, I couldn't find any pictures showing Catelyn)
As mentioned in part 1: Gender: 0 = female, 1 = male. The eye color is only specified if they're not the default brown. (I'll be using the Sims 2 PC to recreate them, as it shares a lot of assets with the PSP version)
Catelyn Lancaster's Details
Bio: "A research assistant at Division 47." social = 15, intimidation = 3, personality = 1, Her social score is higher compared to other Division 47 locals, and her intimidation score is at the max of 3, which would have made her one of the difficult Sims to do social games with. She has the Air personality type and she uses the serious idle set of animations instead of neutral. Her topic sets (interests) are dresses, makeup, medicine2, school2, politics2, spacesuit, travel2, money1, and the solar system. A visual of these:
Catelyn Lancaster's Secrets
(Personal): "Does all of the work at the lab and gets none of the credit."
(Intimate): "You were her first kiss … and after that experience, probably her last."
(Dark): "Persists in enumerating common domestic fowl prior to emergence from their pre-natal habitats."
Terri Tortuga
As said above, Terri is one of four Division 47 research assistants that are in the game. The schedule file indicates that Terri would have spawned in the Laboratory only during the day.
Terri Tortuga's Details
Bio: "A research assistant at Division 47." social = 13, intimidation = 2, personality = 0, Her social and intimidation scores are average for Division 47 locals, so social games aren't too bad. She has the Fire personality type and she uses the serious idle set of animations instead of neutral. Her topic sets (interests) are dresses, makeup, classical, school1, alien, aliens, and birdbee. A visual of these:
Terri Tortuga's Secrets
(Personal): "Has a HUGE crush on Pollination Tech #9."
(Intimate): "Sometimes turns the radio telescope towards the city and pretends it's a laser."
(Dark): "Tests new chemicals on herself, just for kicks. Once grew a second head."
Since we're talking about Division 47, I can add one more thing about TA7 (go see p6tgel's post to learn more about who TA7 is) The devs left notes here and there in the files.
don't worry, he's just (sleeping :P)
Random fact time: When you collect Roberta Rossum's parts, you can check your inventory and read the descriptions for them, but I don't believe you get a chance to read the description of Roberta's head before you give it to Isaac Rossum? But here it is.
There's also a toy horse story item that I can't seem to find any other information for.

(i’m the anon who submit the fred/angela/george thing)
the way you do fred/reader/george is good because the reader likes both of them and sees them as separate people. not like “i like one and the other is similar”. it’s acknowledged that they are different despite being so similar, and the reader isn’t written to like them JUST because they’re similar.
Hi anon, thanks for your kind words! I definitely agree with you and apparently I have some thoughts on the matter 😂🖤
A device I often use in the writing of twins x reader is that the reader is often the only one able to tell the twins apart, or at least most successful in doing so. This is something I noticed in the books, especially with Harry as he’s often the only one who can tell them apart- they are frequently nice and supportive of Harry and any other character that makes the effort not to treat them like one being. Anyone who dismisses them or treats them as a collective is often hounded or somewhat bullied.
I love the idea that the identical twins don’t look identical to the person that loves them (as is common according to partners of twins). I don’t see James and Oliver looking remotely similar anymore and can see their differences straight away so I imagine that if you cared and spent a lot of time with Fred and George, it would be the same.
I think in terms of writing, I use their natural identical looks to be the main focus for their ‘alikeness’ and their personality to be the differences. So I’ll mimic the whole ‘He’s not Fred I am’ or switching places/ jumpers as a nod to their similarities but their personality and how they interact with the reader is different (at least I always try for it to be).
My personal H/C for a relationship with both twins are…
George is sweeter, in all senses.
He’s a little more sensitive to the emotions of people around him, a little more shy to just come out and say what he feels (Fred is much blunter by default) and often spends time considering his words and actions beforehand.
Fred is more of a do first, think second kind of bloke, especially when it comes to trouble. Many times he’s been late to plans thanks to detentions because he couldn’t help himself, not thinking about the consequences.
George is the warm, welcoming hug at the end of a long day; the comfort and familiarity of someone you’ve known your whole life. The very sight of him is enough to grant you relief from the toil of a long day.
Fred is warm and comforting in his own way, the strong pair of arms that would protect you no matter what but a joke or a prank is never completely off the table.
George puts your feelings first, sometimes to the detriment of his own. He’s gentle and warm, considerate and loving. Calls you Angel all the time, but still uses your actual name endearingly.
Seems to have an endless supply of patience and very rarely loses his temper- never with you.
Fred is protective and quite possessive. He‘s the first to throw hands if you’re upset because of someone and always ready with just the right prank in retaliation, but sometimes it is quite literally fists. He doesn’t have an issue with sharing you, as long as it is only with George. Anyone else thinks they can get too friendly with you? Look into this telescope…
Fred is very touchy feely, always with his hand touching you in some way subconsciously, it’s like his little way of giving that physical affection when his words are joking/ blunt.
The banter would be unreal, always joking and playfully nipping at each other but it’s definitely from a place of love- even if it can sound harsh to other people. If the banter ever went away; that’s when to worry.
*NSFW*
I know I said George was patient.. BUT
He can also switch on to being very dominant in the bedroom, taking control and being a true dom, to the point you really, really want to call him daddy, just to see how he’d react. Even when you’re teasing him, he’s abundantly patient, allowing you to get yourself into deeper and deeper trouble.
Fred is tricky because as dominant as he could be, it’s not his natural way in the bedroom. It’s maybe the only time he lets George take the lead on anything, there’s definitely no competition to be the dominant alpha because it’s just not his style.
Teasing is actively encouraged in and out of the bedroom and he’d secretly love the torment- and inflicting it.
Let me know what you think!? 🖤

Day 862
The more I play Blue Prince, the more I understand why and how people who get frustrated with the game, get frustrated with the game. Not because I am getting frustrated, but rather due to a playing issue on my part, I didn’t realize would be an issue.
When I play games like Blue Prince, my biggest concern is that I am going to come up against a puzzle that I don’t know how to solve. This is very common in point and click adventure games for me, because I am not that bright.
Also making puzzles that are intuitive enough for the player to understand how to solve is really, really hard. There’s a reason why there’s not a lot of high quality games in this genre, or a lot of well known ones.
It’s actually one of the places that Blue Prince shines, the puzzles aren’t impossible to solve and the game gives enough hints (once you find them) to solve them on your own.The fact I could at least find Room 46 without using a guide is a testament to that. Granted, finding Room 46 feels more like a prologue and the post-game feels more like the game itself, but that’s a different conversation.
Where Blue Prince is difficult, is actually finding the puzzles and clues. You can’t solve a game like Blue Prince unless you know where you’re looking. And you can’t even tell a player to just note down everything they notice, because the game distracts you with puzzles.
Take the Observatory for example, if you look at the surface, it looks like the puzzle is to move the large telescope so it’s pointing to the night sky so your character can view the stars through the lens. And that is… certainly a puzzle you can find in that room. However, there is another puzzle involving the telescope in that room. If you can figure out how to get the large end of the telescope close enough to you to take a better look at it, you’ll be rewarded with a new floor plan.
I have probably drafted this room over 50 times by now, and it hadn’t occurred to me to check until I decided to do a fresh new playthrough. I was doing a new playthrough to gather more information about the rooms. It’s a bit easier to track my progress when the Directory system is empty so I know if I have noted certain things down in a room yet or not.
Which sounds weird, but honestly, even though I am curious about the post game stuff, I’m really treating this game like a puzzle box toy. Just spending time walking through rooms wondering what else I have missed.
#blue prince#indie game#adventure game#escape room game#point and click game#seriously did you know the urns in the entrance can be broken?#worse part is I read a book that hinted at that and didn't get the hint

Are you troubled with orange lizard infestations? They seem to really like nesting on external communication systems
TSAC: I have noticed this behavior, yes. I believe they are attracted to radio signals, as they tend to congregate around radio emitters and communication nodes. Other iterators have reported similar lizard activity around their cans as well, and it seems to be a common occurrence. Their presence appears to be benign.
The lizards can cause minor radio interference, due to the fact that they also produce radio signals to communicate with one another. However this rarely disrupts radio broadcasts, and only becomes a problem when they congregate around radio emitters in large volumes. Thankfully my location's endemic vulture population is able to prevent this from becoming an issue.
Though their presence is largely harmless, they do sometimes cause problems regarding my astronomical data collection. Occasionally orange lizard signals interfere with my radio telescope observations, especially when a pack is close to one of my radio arrays. They tend to avoid the radio quiet zone surrounding my larger radio telescopes, so this is uncommon, but when it does happen I find it quite irksome. Though, there's not much I can do about it aside from wait for them to move on, or hope they get picked off by a hungry vulture...

Super-Earths are common outside the solar system, new study shows
An international team including astronomers from the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian (CfA) has announced the discovery of a planet about twice the size of Earth orbiting its star farther out than Saturn is to the sun.
These results are another example of how planetary systems can be different from our solar system.
"We found a 'super-Earth'—meaning it's bigger than our home planet but smaller than Neptune—in a place where only planets thousands or hundreds of times more massive than Earth were found before," said Weicheng Zang, a CfA Fellow. He is the lead author of a paper describing these results in the latest issue of the journal Science.
The discovery of this new, farther-out super Earth is even more significant because it is part of a larger study. By measuring the masses of many planets relative to the stars that host them, the team has discovered new information about the populations of planets across the Milky Way.
This study used microlensing, an effect where light from distant objects is amplified by an intervening body such as a planet. Microlensing is particularly effective at finding planets at large distances—approximately between the orbits of Earth and Saturn—from their host stars. The largest study of its kind, this work has about three times more planets and includes planets that are about eight times smaller than previous samples of planets found using the microlensing technique.
The researchers used data from the Korea Microlensing Telescope Network (KMTNet). This network consists of three telescopes in Chile, South Africa, and Australia, which allows for uninterrupted monitoring of the night sky.
"The current data provided a hint of how cold planets form," said Professor Shude Mao of Tsinghua University and Westlake University, China. "In the next few years, the sample will be a factor of four larger, and thus we can constrain how these planets form and evolve even more stringently with KMTNet data."
Our solar system consists of four small, rocky, inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars) and four large, gaseous, outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune). The searches for exoplanets to date using other techniques, i.e., transiting planet from telescopes like Kepler and TESS and radial velocity searches, have shown that other systems can contain a variety of small, medium, and large planets in orbits inside that of the Earth.
The latest work from the CfA-led team shows that such super-Earth planets are also common in the outer regions of other solar systems.
"This measurement of the planet population from planets somewhat larger than Earth all the way to the size of Jupiter and beyond shows us that planets, and especially super-Earths, in orbits outside the Earth's orbit are abundant in the galaxy," said co-author Jennifer Yee of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, which is part of the CfA.
"This result suggests that in Jupiter-like orbits, most planetary systems may not mirror our solar system," said co-author Youn Kil Jung of the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, which operates the KMTNet.
The researchers are also looking to determine how many super-Earths exist versus the number of Neptune-sized planets. This study shows that there are at least as many super-Earths as Neptune-size planets.
Other CfA contributors to this study include post-doctoral fellow In-Gu Shin, former Harvard undergraduate student Hangyue Wang (now at Stanford), and Sun-Ju Chung, a KASI scientist who visited CfA on sabbatical from 2022–2023.
In addition to KMTNet, the Optical Gravitational Lens Experiment (OGLE) and Microlensing Observations in Astrophysics (MOA) survey groups contributed data for the planet characterization.

Good evening everyone, I brought you more infodump about Marcellus.
I originally created him on the 21st of November in late 2023, I kinda or started using him a lot till now. He became a prominent part of my writing and content, so prominent enough that I utilized him more in my writing style and such. And despite all odds, I enjoyed making little scenarios with my oc named Marcellus.
So, here's my daily dose of infodump of my OC:
Marcellus kinda often uses a wheelchair and/or crutch(es) because in some instances he kinda has trouble with walking or climbing even jumping or at times running with a prosthetic leg on, Marcellus also uses a white cane to walk sometimes but with either tinted glasses or goggles.
While it's common for Marcellus to link alchemy with Varian since he is inspired by Varian's and he too thinks alchemy is science and hates hearing alchemy be said to a magic, he scribbles or reads about mathematical books to solve equations. He kinda uses a magnifying glass or Varian prints larger print books for him to read, he uses the phrase "Alchemical math" as an example.
Marcellus ever since he grew up was shown that he has trust issues cause of him knowing that he has gotten used to lies more often in life, Marcellus wouldn't believe things and would go on Varian's side at times, he would only think it's true if he sees it for himself. Since Marcellus feared that he would be betrayed, manipulated or even abandoned.
He hates the whole stereotyping of his albinism with a burning passion, as he never liked being called a villain or evil person. Or be called magical and be made fun of, thus why he uses Varian's words to say something.
He speaks English a lot, but can also speaks Polish in times when he tries to speak in a different language other than the ones that are provided in Corona like German and English (Reminder: It's only in some fanfics I create that would have that be used)
Varian was and still is helpful to Marcellus and his albinism, since Varian brought breathable material in his room in the pre-series, sunscreen he created and allowed either him or himself to apply on Marcellus's skin, an umbrella for rain and sun usage, putting wide-brimmed hat over Marcellus's head, telling Marcellus to stay in the shade, etc. He also helps with vision aids of Marcellus, like printing large-print or high-contrast books and printed materials once using the print machine that he had (Till it was destroyed in the What the Hair?), giving him a magnifying glass, invented a small telescope for Marcellus that attach to glasses to read writing in the distance, Varian adds a patch to Marcellus's eye if Marcellus has a lazy eye to encourage his other eye to work harder and eye exercises. He once bought and brought his old glasses with new ones just to help Marcellus on his birthday, Varian also gives him physical exercise or even brain (emotional) exercise. (Reminder: In certain chapters of my fanfic)
Marcellus is good with cooking, even knowing how to handle it with the right tools. But sadly, he is bad at baking. The only time he baked, was pancakes but that's because it's the easiest for him.
Marcellus's eyes are reddish, but he wasn't born with red eyes at all (Despite the content I make of him looks the way it does) but that's because the lighting conditions can allow the blood vessels at the back of the eye to be seen, which can cause the eyes to look reddish or violet. Otherwise, his eyes are icy blue (light blue). Like how Varian has baby blue eyes, there's a time when his icy blue eyes are also mentioned (Fair reminder: I actually do make my TTS oc have icy blues in some pics, while my PFP of my oc is created by the best artist named @mariizahra, and I loved it so much that I put it as my official PFP and his eyes are kinda shown to be reddish but it still looks like he HAS icy blue eyes) in posts I created, he appears to have "red" but they’re typically very light blue (icy blue). The retina might show through to give a pink outline around the iris.
Also, Marcellus isn't good at ball sports cause of the whole eyesight and sunburn thing that he has to deal with. Obviously, If you're giving your character with albinism a hobby/passion, it’s probably best to involve throwing/catching fast-moving things or being out in the sun a lot. This isn't to say Marcellus can't or wouldn't play sports altogether as it's vital to him. It’s just not the best thing to do professionally and/or competitively, so yeah. He can't play ball sports with kids, because he has problems with his vision and sunburns could be a massive pain in the ass for him.
A lot of people in his own village, Corona, Old Corona even other towns and kingdoms stare at him, I mean. He is drastically different from the villagers, which makes Marcellus an outcast because of his looks. But he still is and will be thankful that Varian stares really intently at the people staring at him until they stop.
Marcellus's life affects his life, having to protect himself and having Varian always help him makes him think he is a burden. Indicating why he feels ashamed of having albinism because it means that Varian would have stressed himself just to make it easier for him.
I created him to have a backstory than just him being "the character with albinism" without knowing how he is as a character.
I write Marcellus not to make him cool but to identify the character as the people who are born with albinism, also he isn't just made a pity show (But has been through trauma that he kinda doesn't trust people) He isn't just revolving about his albinism, as he also wants to know what's alchemy is and what math can be. He also wants to garden and a winemaker, but he has struggles that many people with albinism who are disabled have. Having difficulties navigating life as a kid with albinism and social communication around him with others when Varian isn't around, thus why he is given the help he needs. He got bullied at the orphanage for being unattractive and different, on the streets and by others. And I created him for reasons, to adapt the concept of albinism in Tangled. Since I see Vitiligo characters but what about albinism, why does my character have albinism? Well, I pretty much like characters with albinism to feel represented. And I created Marcellus to be the notion, but also give him a personality and bio to make you sympathize or root for him. The narrative in the story serves as a reminder that Marcellus has to learn to seek self-confidence about being born with albinism, with enough support and love. Marcellus would learn, his albinism isn't what defines him as a person. Without his albinism, his parents would've abandoned him for a different reason, and the orphanage would've abused him for another different reason and the bullies would've hurt him for much different reason (What different reason, you might ask? Him emotional and not like his parents or everyone) I wanna create Marcellus so he can represent others from a group who are born with albinism.
Marcellus was gifted an albino raccoon by Varian to match his albinism, he named him Trickster. Trickster and Marcellus share a pet-owner bond, as Trickster like Ruddiger eats apples and food that Marcellus gives him. Marcellus has never been this happy to have a friend that matches him, thanks to Varian.
Usually Varian brings him things other than alchemy, ham sandwiches, things to protect him and his skin. He also brings him a drawing of him and Varian that Marcellus holds dearly, and mathematical books or regular books that are easy to read or Marcellus to have a magnifying glass.
If Marcellus ever laughs, Varian also laughs with him, not at him. Listening to him, expressing concern and care and giving him positive feedback to him, and so much more.

Agitation 3.4 Live Reactions
(This is me, writing reactions as I read, because why the fuck not. They're not complete, mature thoughts taken after I sit back and evaluate what I've read. Consider them as such)
As I heard the front door open, I snapped the phone shut and jammed it into my pocket. I’d apologize for hanging up later. I definitely didn’t want my dad to see the phone. I didn’t think he would stop me from owning one, but ever since my mom’s death, cell phones had carried strong negative connotations. That, and I’d have to explain where I got it and how I’d paid for it.
I get that Danny has issues with phones, but that's nearly criminally irresponsible parenting, given the way Brockton Bay is.
I’d promised myself I would go the day after tomorrow. Face the music.
What music? I can't imagine her teachers will care. Her bullies might, but really, what the fuck else can they do if they still want to not get caught? Not much more than they already have.
(Did I jinx it? I think I probably jinxed it)
Rachel had been out of the apartment, the others weren’t specific on why and I wasn’t interested enough to risk looking too curious by asking.
Right now, Taylor's relationship with the Undersiders has a very "my friends... and Zoidberg" feel to it.
I had elected for both a combat knife and a telescoping police baton.
The Baton I see so often in every rendition of the Bank Scene! AYYY!
I kind of liked that it was a bit spartan, because it sort of fit with how I didn’t plan to be around that long while still feeling weirdly appreciative at being accepted as a part of the group.
There's nothing weird about being glad to have a place where you're actually wanted, Taylor. Reject heroism. Embrace villainy. Return to bug!
Alec’s movies from Earth-Aleph, the alternate Earth that our Earth had been communicating with since Professor Haywire tore a hole between realities. Media was one of the few things that could be traded back and forth through the hole. Long story short, you could get books, movies and DVDs of TV shows from the other world, if you were willing to accept the price tag. The benefit? I got to spend the afternoon seeing how the other universe had handled episodes one and two of the Star Wars films.
First mention of Earth-Aleph, and yes, a source of all the bits in fanfic where people reference Earth-Aleph media!
I'd have to go back to the first mention of Earth-Bet, but I feel like for most casual uses in-universe, people would still just say 'Earth' to refer to whatever their Earth is? You'd only clarify when it matters to specify?
Eh, minor thing, probably as much for clarity of readability as anything else.
By the time my dad got in, I had pork chops defrosted, dusted with lemon and pepper and sitting in a frying pan, with vegetables in the microwave. Cooking was sort of something you started doing when you had only one parent, unless you really, really liked takeout.
Not necessarily, but common, yeah.
He tried to hide it, but I could see a bit of disappointment. “Of course,” he said, “Your new friends?”
I get it. He's been trying to make an effort lately, but he started too late, and Taylor is instead a villain now. He doesn't know that, but he both wants to let her have friends, instead of smother her and stuff, and wants to keep her close to reconnect.
My mind started racing to anticipate questions and come up with plausible details. Should I use their real names? Or at least, the names they had given me? I wasn’t sure if that would be a breach of trust. I decided to use their real names for much the same reason I’d decided to use my own with them. It just prevented disasters if my dad ever happened to meet them, which was a terrifying thought, or if they called for me.
QUICK! THINK OF THE RIGHT LIES!
I was also under the impression that the courts didn’t always unmask capes when they arrested them. I wasn’t entirely sure what was up with that. It seemed like something to ask Lisa about.
I feel like this is a core enough element of the setting that if Taylor did any research at all, she'd have found it, and she supposedly did a good amount of preplanning?
Like, I get that this is a set up for future exposition, but...
“A boy, eh?” My dad wiggled his eyebrows at me. “Dad, stop! It’s not like that,” I protested.
I mean, I wouldn't say I ship Brian/Taylor, but her budding crush is kinda cute and entertaining.
And Wildbow will make me suffer for thinking that, because All Readers of Worm Shall Suffer
My dad smiled, “Impressive. Tell me they’re all excellent students that can serve as good role models for you.” I could have choked. Good role models? Them?
Heh heh heh
Arguably, Taylor would be a good influence on them.
Maybe.
One hopes.
I raised my eyebrows in question as I chewed. They had, kind of, but I couldn’t really say ‘They used Mom’s death to fuck with my head’ without having to explain the Emma thing.
TELL HIM TELL HIM TELL HIM
You’d think I would feel better, after opening up, but I didn’t. I felt frustrated, angry, awkward. It was a reminder that I couldn’t have a real conversation with my dad like I used to be able to
This, Taylor, is entirely a problem of your own creation though?
This time, though, instead of turning up towards the Boardwalk, I headed south.
Didn't an earlier bit imply that the Docks were just off the main road of the Boardwalk?
“Wasn’t sure if you would show up,” a male voice broke the silence. I turned to face Armsmaster, “I’m sorry. I had to hang up on your receptionist. Real life called.”
The Mental image of Armsmaster having a receptionist does not compute.
“I need to call in a favor.”
Well this will go splendidly!

For Cici: Are they an oldest, middle, youngest or only child? Describe the place where they sleep What objects do they always carry around with them?
OOOOHHHHHHH ty for letting me blab about my Gorl
as far as she knows, Cici is an only child. she was left inside the grand necropolis as a baby—which in my happy little sandbox isn't actually unheard of; i imagine the necropolis functions like a safe haven in the US, where parents can leave newborns anonymously, no questions asked, and they become wards of the state (since the necropolis is always open to the public and always staffed). the only thing she knows for sure is that her parents were elves. she was fostered by a clerk in the city's mason's guid, Marten Ingellvar, until she was nine, at which point her magic manifested and she returned to the necropolis for training.
(Marten also gave her both her middle and last names; Vorgoth gave Cici her first name, since they were the one to take her to the crypt guards after the skeletons found her. her full legal name is Taphodora Cecília Ingellvar. only Vorgoth uses her first name, and only when she's in trouble.)
as for sleeping arrangements, i'm borrowing @crowtoed's FABULOUS headcanon and saying that Cici grew up with a box bed. (although in true nevarran fashion she probably calls it a sleeping vault.) i imagine they're common both for apprentice watchers living in the dorms as well as working-class families, since they're space-saving, private, and warm. after she graduated she was given a permanent residence in the "Watcher's Barrow" (awful wordplay on borough, thank you i'm here all week) on the necropolis grounds (but, crucially, not in the structure itself, which limits people's houses randomly getting shuffled around) and i think she has a four-poster there since it's easier for her to get in and out of with her mobility issues. she was freaked out for a while on her roadtrip with Varric and Harding because she'd never slept in a bed that wasn't fully enclosed either by walls or curtains.
Cici always has her staff with her, which is actually her cane (she uses it both for stability and as a probing cane, because this is fantasy and materials engineering is silly when you have magic and it can telescope out because i said so). sometimes she'll keep a bag with her, like on her roadtrip when she had to carry basically everything she owned, but most days Cici is wearing a split skirt in the style of victorian england.

the victorians did not fuck around with pockets. a non-exhaustive list of Things Cici Has Pulled Out of Her Pockets That Made Bellara Question Her Understanding of Physics:
her magnifier. her old model was just a big rectangular magnifying glass about the size of a box of pocky; Bellara eventually makes her a refreshable night script (fantasy braille) reader that's slightly bigger but still fits in her pocket.
a pair of dragonskin gloves, which can be sterilized by torching them. good for field medicine or Touching Weird Things that Look Sticky.
at least one notepad, a plethora of pens and pencils.
a bar of carbolic soap.
an athame—she doesn't like it for combat magic, but it comes in handy for some rituals.
her waterskin.
a little bag of various herbal chews and powders to prevent migraines.
snacks (varied).
a full set of carpals, metacarpals, and phalanges, for assembling into a Helping Hand (Lucanis threatens to kill her every time she calls it that). the bones were a gift from her fourth-year anatomy professor after he had to have his arm amputated.
a suture kit (for people) and a sewing kit (for clothing), safely contained in little tin boxes.
notably, not much jewelry. Cici left her only grave gold (a necklace from her foster father, which originally belonged to his late wife) in the necropolis when she left.

The American Ornithological Society, the organization responsible for standardizing English bird names across the Americas, announced on Wednesday that it would rename all species honoring people. Bird names derived from people, the society said in a statement, can be harmful, exclusive and detract from “the focus, appreciation or consideration of the birds themselves.”
That means the Audubon’s shearwater, a bird found off the coast of the southeastern United States, will no longer have a name acknowledging John James Audubon, a famous bird illustrator and a slave owner who adamantly opposed abolition. The Scott’s oriole, a black-and-yellow bird inhabiting the Southwest and Mexico, will also receive a new moniker, which will sever ties to the U.S. Civil War general Winfield Scott, who oversaw the forced relocation of Indigenous peoples in 1838 that eventually became the Trail of Tears.
The organization’s decision is a response to pressure from birders to redress the recognition of historical figures with racist or colonial pasts. The renaming process will aim for more descriptive names about the birds’ habitats or physical features and is part of a broader push in science for more welcoming, inclusive environments.
“We’re really doing this to address some historic wrongs,” said Judith Scarl, the executive director of the American Ornithological Society. Dr. Scarl added that the change would help “engage even more people in enjoying and protecting and studying birds.”
Advocates of this change believe that many English common names for birds are “isolating and demeaning reminders of oppression, slavery and genocide,” according to a petition in 2020 that was addressed to the American Ornithological Society. The petition was written by Bird Names For Birds, an initiative founded by two ornithologists to confront the issue of these bird names, which it describes as “verbal statues” reflecting the values of their eponyms.
But some birders, while expressing sympathy for the cause, said that they were unsure that this was the right route to take. “I’m not super enthusiastic about it, but neither am I super disappointed about it,” said Jeff Marks, an ornithologist at the Montana Bird Advocacy.
“We’ll lose a little bit of knowledge about some key people in the history of ornithology, and that saddens me,” Dr. Marks said. “But maybe in the scheme of things that’s just not that big of a deal.”
Jordan Rutter, a founder of Bird Names For Birds, said the petition was inspired by what became a momentous encounter in Central Park in 2020, when a white woman falsely reported to police that Christian Cooper, a Black birder, was threatening her.
The Central Park encounter inspired the creation of Black Birders Week, an annual campaign to celebrate the lives and careers of Black birders, which then spurred an avalanche of similar initiatives in the sciences against the backdrop of a nationwide racial reckoning. In 2021, the Entomological Society of America began the Better Common Names Project to change the names of insects deemed inappropriate or derogatory. Astronomers have also advocated for the renaming of major telescopes that they say alienate people from marginalized backgrounds.
In birding communities, pushes to move away from problematic bird names have produced mixed results. The Bird Union and the Chicago Bird Alliance recently changed their names to avoid an association with Audubon. But the board of directors at the National Audubon Society voted to retain its name this year, saying that the mission of the organization transcended the history of one person.
In 2022, the American Ornithological Society announced the formation of an ad hoc committee to determine how to address controversial bird names. Members of the committee met every two weeks for months, discussing topics such as the importance of name stability and how to determine the criteria for changing a bird’s name.
Wednesday’s announcement is the culmination of that effort. In its statement, the American Ornithological Society committed to changing all bird names derived from people and assembling a diverse group to oversee the renaming process, which it said would include input from the general public. More than 100 avian species across the Americas will be given new names.
“The idea of changing a bunch of names is, to many people — myself included, originally — throwing out a lot of history,” said John Fitzpatrick, an ornithologist at Cornell University. He said that he initially felt bird names should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis but that further discussions convinced him that “there is no formula by which we can figure out which names are good enough.”
Notably, only the common English names of birds will change, since scientific names — which are traditionally in Latin — are governed by a rigid, universal set of rules that take into account evolutionary relationships between different species. (Latin designations taken from people’s names exist as well, such as Capito fitzpatricki for the Sira barbet, a Peruvian bird named after Dr. Fitzpatrick.)
The decision to change common names of birds “makes perfect sense” to Mr. Cooper, whose fame has led him to hosting a National Geographic birding show. “There’s no reason to have a person’s name attached to a bird, because it doesn’t tell you anything about the bird,” he said.
Mr. Cooper mentioned the Wilson’s warbler, a canary songbird with a characteristic black cap. Changing the name to something “like black-capped warbler,” he said, would give birders a better idea of what to look for.
But to Jerry Coyne, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Chicago who is an avid birder, the need for more descriptive names did not seem pressing. Performative acts like this “are really deeply injurious to science,” he said. “We cannot go back through the history of science and wipe out everybody who was not a perfect human being.” Dr. Coyne added that the effort to update so many names would be better invested in something more impactful to society, such as teaching underprivileged children about birds.
The American Ornithological Society plans to pilot a renaming program next year, starting with around 10 birds. Eventually, the program will expand to address all namesake birds in the United States and Canada, and then move on to avian species in Central and South America, which is the extent of the society’s naming jurisdiction.
Carlos Daniel Cadena, an ornithologist at the University of the Andes in Colombia and a leader of the English Bird Names Committee, expects the changes to entail a slight learning curve but also present a new opportunity for the public to bond over birds.
“It’s going to be a level playing field where we all need to learn together,” Dr. Cadena said.
He noted that the process might be adjusted for birds in Latin American countries, where people commonly refer to them by their scientific names.
With thousands of species across the Americas, birds are as diverse as the communities that cherish them. “Birds are by far the most accessible and beloved feature in biodiversity worldwide,” said Dr. Fitzpatrick. He added that more colorful names for these creatures would heighten “the ease by which new birders of every stripe” can enjoy them.

A One-Sided Encounter
Soft music plays in a luscious red ballroom, polished checkered floor tiles reflecting the light of several candles and a golden chandelier. The music drifts across the room from an ornate grand piano as a woman plays a slow tune. Pallid skin and waist long inky hair contrast the vibrant room, almost making her appear monochrome. She's draped in a simple black dress, a slit exposing her pale legs up to the thigh. Her gloved hands work their way cautiously across the keys, creating a gentle melody. Between her notes, heavy breathing can be heard from the other end of the room. There rests a man dressed in a fine pinstripe suit, messy black hair betraying his attempt at an elegant look. His skeletal fingers wrap around the neck of a blurry humanoid figure as he wrestles the last bits of life from them. Wicked grin growing across his face, he takes one last look at the figure on the ground before throwing himself into a velvet armchair.
At the very least they're an interesting bunch, no?
Her voice is soft, chiming like a silver bell.
They're loud, talkative, obnoxious, I give it two months.
If her voice was like silver, then his was cracked and rusted.
They have their issues, but I think you're underestimating them. We saw them in that fight, if we're not careful they could turn on us at any instant.
The man stomps to his feet and begins to pace.
I don't like this. We were better off alone. Now we need to start hiding things again.
Gradually, the mans pacing quickens. He rushes from one end of the room to the other several times. With a shout he rams into the armchair, sending it screeching across the floor. Finally relaxing, he turns to the body on the floor with a disappointed look.
What do you think of the holder?
She's.. Intriguing.
She cheated. She did something, I know it.
Does it matter? It'll end in all the same ways.
The disappointment on the man's face morphs into smug satisfaction. The body on the ground begins to take a clearer shape, one of scales and tendrils.
Don't get ahead of yourself. She's mine.
The man bares his teeth at her, dropping his shoulders as he begins to prowl closer.
You tore the last one apart so quickly I was barely able to have any satisfaction.
The man silently creeps up behind her, sharp teeth extending from his maw. His hands reach out for her tender neck-
A sharp bang makes the man jump. The woman turns to look at him, keylid now slammed shut.
You're not the only one who gets to have fun here.
Frustration crumbling, the man began to hang his head as though he were a dog caught tracking mud across the fine flooring. After a moment he moves back to his crooked armchair, slumping into it once again.
Besides, this one looks particularly savory.
The woman absentmindedly ran her tongue across her teeth, becoming lost in thought. Hers were just as sharp as his, and the thought of slowly breaking and tearing....
The silence from the man got her attention, it wasn't a common occurrence.
Oh, you poor thing.
She rose from the piano bench and strode across the room, circling the armchair before deciding to sit in his lap. Raising a hand to cup his cheek, she caressed his face with her thumb.
You'll get your turn baby, you can do whatever you'd like once I've finished. I'll leave her alive, just for you.
She puts her fingers underneath his chin, raising his face to meet her own. His breathing quickens, the rapid thrumming of his heartbeat fills his ears. His face twitches, and they lunge at each other with silently drawn knives.
Apostrophe wakes up, stirred from their meditation by the rustling of the tree they're hiding in. Carefully stretching, they begin to relax and climb back into their position. Rummaging through their pack they pull out a makeshift telescope. (Technically an actual scope that had come attached to their rifle, they took it off as they found it disorienting to use in the middle of a fight.) Poking it between the leaves of their vantage point they were able to get a clear sight of their target.
The window of a gated mansion came into view. An ornately decorated bedroom could be seen inside. They shifted slightly, and turned the scope over to the sleeping figure in the bed. Excitement rose in their chest as they settled into a more comfortable position. Taking out some dried meat, they began to pass the time by watching the figure. Beginning to enjoy themselves, they took every bite deliberately and let their imagination wander.

Rose is playing Sims with John's shit.
Dad has John's server copy
Sylladex update: Rose uses the Tree Sylladex that I don't really get yet?
Game offers not tutorial by the way- just big ass machines and 'punch card alchemy.' I believe Rose is making her own while looking through what little walk throughs exist.
Dad's handle is pipefan413... his sons birthday which is really cute.
Rose's "and how did that make you feel" vibes are showing.
TT: Whoops.
"You think it's cool that things don't always have to be a federal fucking issue." What a line.
Jade's gift won't be opened until John can get it from the car :(.
Jade has an EXPLOSION on her end, good bye friend.
Bathroom is once again destroyed and is actively costing them building grist.
Rose has a very spotty internet connection and now this tub is stuck in the hallway? Will this ever be moved.
John my new son, the glass in your inventory scares me.
The sprite is so much, wonder if it ever gave anyone seizures due to all the flashing.
John massacres some poor birthday gift, Harlequin doll rest in rip. His dad gave him that :(.
EB: also, fix my bathroom
Welcome into the world sweet baby child, harlequin sprite.
John fucking yeets his dad PDA 'cause he needed that telescope.
John is connecting the dots, he's learning! He's making stuff! (I still dont know what he's gonna do with three generic boxes.)
John/Rose makes 3 boxes and something in the sky gets John's attention.
The timer now has some context, there is a fucking meteor heading right for John supposedly landing as soon as this timer is over.
No shit, bud.
Forbidden fruit snack/gusher (Build Grist)
Rose is trying to fix the bathroom, and John's dad is pulling into the house.
Dad can't get in :(
I really wish we saw more of him.
Meteor is now common knowledge among these bozos, Rose's internet cuts, and I have to include Dave's very good meteor bit.

Most common surgeries done by gynecologist surgeon
Gynecology surgery comprises any surgical procedure that involves the organs and structure of the female pelvic region: the ovaries, uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix, vulva, and vagina. There are several reasons why a woman might need to go through gynecology surgery. She might need treatment for a condition such as fibroids (benign tumors), endometriosis, cancer, ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease, chronic pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding or uterine prolapse. Gynecology surgery can also be used as permanent birth control.
The most common surgeries done by gynecologist surgeon are as follows:
Cervical Cryosurgery
Abnormal cervical cells are at times discovered during a routine Pap smear. Abnormal cells do not always indicate cancer, but your healthcare provider will likely want to do some follow-up tests or procedures. One procedure they might recommend is cervical cryosurgery. This procedure is a highly effective gynecological treatment that freezes a section of the cervix. Cryosurgery destroys these cells to stop them from developing into cancer.
Hysteroscopy
Hysteroscopy is a process that your healthcare provider may use to diagnose or treat uterine issues. This procedure might be used to:
Locate an intrauterine device
Remove adhesions (scar tissue)
Determine the cause of repeated miscarriage
During this procedure, a healthcare professional inserts a hysteroscope, a lighted, thin, telescope-like instrument, into your uterus through the vagina. Then, it sends pictures of your uterus to a screen for further test.
Pelvic Laparoscopy
Laparoscopy is a surgical procedure usually performed under general anesthesia. But it can be performed with other types of anesthesia while you are awake. It is used for:
Gallbladder removal
Tubal ligation (tying the fallopian tubes for permanent birth control)
Treating endometriosis and uterine fibroids
Hernia repair
The typical pelvic laparoscopy involves a small incision in the belly button or lower abdomen. A surgeon then pumps carbon dioxide into your abdomen to help them see your organs easily.
Dilation and Curettage
It is one of the most common gynecological procedures. During this process, a healthcare provider removes a portion of your uterine lining with a suction device or a sharp curette. The procedure can diagnose uterine conditions, including:
Uterine cancer
Endometrial hyperplasia (an abnormally thick uterine lining)
Uterine polyps (overgrowth of tissue in the uterine lining)
In addition, D&Cs are commonly used for miscarriage, abortion procedures, molar pregnancy, and retained placenta.
Common gynecological procedures by gynecologist surgeon include colposcopy, cervical cryosurgery, D&C, LEEP, hysteroscopy, and pelvic laparoscopy. Most of these procedures can help healthcare providers get a better look at the cervix, uterus, and vagina and take samples for a biopsy. Some of them can also treat specific conditions.
Understandably, you might have concerns about any process your healthcare provider or gynecologist recommends. Learning as much as you can is a good idea. In addition, it is essential to ask your doctor any questions you might have. Finally, do not forget to tell them if you may be pregnant, even though they usually do a test to check first.

random sdv rarepairs i want to write / see more of:
maru x abigail (both insatiably curious, both nerds, both dealing with pressure to grow up just like dad. though at first maru is just "seb's annoying little sister", they're actually close in age and abi begins to realize they have more in common than she thought; she sees how abi's sword is maru's telescope, her tool to explore the universe. maru thinks abi is impractical, all talk no substance, until she realizes that abi is a dreamer like her; abi just wasn't lucky enough to have a dream that fit within the box of her parents' expectations)
abigail x elliott (both enamored by the beauty of the world and the idea of escape. elliott relishes the way she makes him, a nobody struggling artist, feel important, and he sees in her a younger version of himself; she reignites the creative spark he needs. abi is a hopeless romantic though she'll never admit it. she loves the roses and the sonnets, the thrill of sneaking away to his cabin at night. also, daddy issues. this is probably not a healthy relationship)
harvey x emily (both people who build themselves around caring for others; people who know the whole town and yet remain distant. harvey thinks she's kinda full of bullshit but she has what he doesn't - that unreserved joy at merely being - and he finds himself drawn to that, like a bottle of sunshine on a rainy day. emily sees the wounded soul in him, but beyond that, she sees the man he was before he let his fears get in the way, the one who dreamt of flying)
#stardew valley#just let harvey do clothing therapy with a little pilot hat#also em and harv making out behind the bar after close??? hmm#this is not very nice to elliott sorry elliott#abigail would love being out in the canoe tho#she'd have some shit to say about the infinite ocean depths#i like to think abi would help maru grow out of being so judgmental too#i kind of hc maru as a stemlordgirlboss who has a little bit of disdain for farmer even though demetrius actually does respect farm work#but it's rooted in insecurity that comes from the tense relationship with her older brother + being one of the only poc in small town#i love her to be clear she is me
